Privacy Policy
BCzap Connect Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 20, 2026. This policy explains what BCzap Connect
collects, how the app uses data, which third parties process data on our
behalf, and how users can request deletion of their account information.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, BCzap Connect may collect and store:
- Account information such as your name, email address, and sign-in credentials.
- Profile data such as your public visibility setting and share ID.
- Content you create, including links, notes, locations, contact entries, and grouped items.
- Business card or image-derived information when you choose to scan or upload content.
- Authentication and security data related to password recovery or multi-factor authentication when enabled.
- Locally cached data on your device to improve app responsiveness and offline behavior.
2. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account.
- To sync your saved content across sessions and devices.
- To let you manage privacy and sharing settings for your profile and saved content.
- To support account recovery, sign-in security, and optional multi-factor authentication.
- To process features you actively use, such as link analysis or business card scanning.
- To provide user support and troubleshoot service issues.
3. Permissions and device access
BCzap Connect may request access to the following device features:
- Camera access to capture business cards or other images you choose to scan.
- Photo library access to upload existing images you select.
- Location access while using the app so you can create or manage location-based entries.
- Internet access to authenticate users, sync content, and load connected services.
You can manage most device permissions through your device settings, but some app features may not work correctly without them.
4. Third-party services and processors
BCzap Connect relies on third-party providers to operate core features:
- Supabase for authentication, backend data storage, and related service functions.
- Google Sign-In when you choose to authenticate with your Google account.
When you use those features, relevant data may be processed by those providers according to their own terms and privacy practices.
5. Data sharing
BCzap Connect is designed to let users control whether certain profile or content items are public or private.
We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed only in the following cases:
- When you intentionally make content or profile information public through app settings.
- When disclosure is necessary to operate services provided by our processors and infrastructure providers.
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users or the service.
6. Local storage and retention
The app stores some information locally on your device, including cached content and settings, to improve performance.
Remote account data is retained while your account remains active, unless a shorter or longer retention period is required for legal, security, or operational reasons.
7. Account deletion
Users can request account deletion from within the app where available. Deleting an account is intended to remove remote account data associated with the service and clear local cached data on the device during the deletion flow.
If you need help deleting your account or want manual assistance, contact support using the information on the support page.
8. Children’s privacy
BCzap Connect is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect user data, including authenticated access controls and encrypted network transport where supported by our service providers.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date on this page.
